時間一天一天再過。搶救災區的黃金時間也一分一秒的流逝....台灣不是落後國家。

我們是高度開發的先進國家。真心希望執政者拿出魄力跟決心，解救受災的同胞，

未來，也真心希望拿出徹底杜絕類似事情再發生的決策跟行動。我們就只有這麼

一個小小的台灣島。過度的向大自然需索無度開發。只會讓大自然在最後反撲。

受難的永遠是這些在最底層掙扎奮鬥的小民。我們不要只會顧顏色的政客。

只希望所有人共同守護這片寶島樂土。尊敬大自然 也尊敬這塊包容我們的土地。

在這邊，不能做什麼。只希望把這次的事情有紀錄的照片保留下來，加注上英文

的新聞說明。PONY會把他轉給在美國的所有朋友。如果大家有餘力，也希望

可以代為轉給任何世界上的友人。 我們現在為在這次災變中罹難的同胞至上

TAIWAN: TYPHOON MORAKOT,

VILLAGE BURIED UNDER MUD

(AGI) - Taipei, 11 Aug.

Taiwan has been brought to its knees by Tyhoon Morakot, which has caused floods, landslides, collapses and avalanches throughout the island. Rescue operations continue chiefly in the south, the area which has recorded the worst damage. For now only 41 people have been reported dead whilst 62 remain officially unaccounted for.

  Another twenty lost their lives in similar circumstances in China and Japan. According to Taiwanese government sources, the most recently discovered bodies in Nantou were inside a car which fell into a river after the road gave way in a flood.

  Another body, that of a woman, was found under a bridge in the area of Kaohsiung. A helicopter carrying a team of 6 rescue workers crashed into a mountain due to heavy fog and fell into a waterway in the southern part of the island. The concerns however regard Hsiaolin, a village situated in a remote part of the south, where it is feared that at least 100 residents made be trapped under a mudslide and buried alive. Some sources of mass local media have calculated that the death toll in Hsiaolin could reach 600. The area is currently isolated and thus it remains impossible to reach it to search for survivors.

For those Taiwanese People who suffered from the disaster, we pray for you all.

Lives will go on and we will all overcome this difficult situation. I have faith in

our resolute people. Please understand that, even we couldn''t stand right next

to you but our mind are all stick together no matter how far we are around the

world. We only have this small island as our motherland. After this affair

maybe we should all re-think about how should we treat her. After all, this

land is what we borrowed from our children and one day we will have to return

it. May God bliss all the people in my beloved country.
